Is the HTC One (M8) right for me?

Thanks AKFL3TCH3R!

Fais, I've always had a problem with touchwiz, too much bloatware. I've never had such a premium feeling phone!

I was at the Verizon store today comparing phones for my upgrade. I own the Galaxy S4 and quite frankly, Samsung didn't make "great changes" to the S5. Every Samsung phone I've owned has performed well for gaming and multitasking but the reception on my old Nexus and on my S4 suck. My phone is dead at my work desk however two of my coworkers also on Verizon but use Motorola, get between 1-2 bars of signal and can make outgoing calls.

The M8 was a fun phone to play with. Snappy fast, gorgeous design, ample memory, and had a nice user friendly setup. But, and this is a big but, friggin non removable battery. My S4 is 9 months old and already my battery is noticeably starting to fail. That's just what batteries do; they lose their capacity over time due to charging cycles. Two year contract = two year old battery = 800 (give or take) charging cycles. No thanks. When they release Solid-state designed (no electrolyte) lithium ion batteries (sometime in 2015) I'll consider buying a phone with a non removable battery.

This may or may not be the reason your s4 battery is failing, but the rate at which you charge a battery has a lot to do with its lifespan. The S4 charges with a 2amp charger while last years HTC One used a 1amp. If it's imbedded and you charge it slower, it will hold its capacity a lot longer. Plus isn't a full cycle 0-100%? Most people don't let their phone go all the way to 0%

My primary method of charging is with the factory wall charger and occasionally with my Verizon branded car charger.

I read that Cycling a lithium ion battery is detrimental to the integrity of the battery. Cycling ended when Ni-Cad batteries phased out.
