Is the Huawei Watch still worth it?

I love mine. It's still the closest in size and appearance to a classic men's dress watch. Battery life is terrific (mine is only down to 60% or so by the end of the day). Main downside is the vibration on mine is strangely hard to feel -- I sometimes hear the buzzing more than I feel it.

Yeah, but no one answered my questions...

There's no way to manage ambient light, as it has no sensor for it. You pretty much have to set it at a brightness you're comfortable with and live with it, or manually adjust it every time you change environment.

As for vibration, mine is fine, and I've never missed anything.

Thank you. So when it gets dark you have to dim it manually. Is it easy? Does having the light on maximum (I live in a sunny country) makes the watch unbearable to get to bed with some battery left?

Cheers

In the Always On mode, the watchface should dim a little bit. Manually dimming it means swiping down, then left a couple of times, to get to the brightness setting. There are some apps that deal with this, like Display Brightness for Wear.

I have my watch set to Always On, with brightness at 4 (out of 5), and battery usually goes from 100% down to about 60% by the end of the day. Keep in mind that even with Always On, the watch screen might turn off if the watch has been completely idle for a certain amount of time (i.e., if it detects no movement).

How do you manage the lack of ambient light? What about the vibration, do you miss some of the notifications?

Cheers

Feeling the vibration depends on how tight you wear your watch. When it is tight I never miss anything but if I leave it loose then I often miss some things.

How I handle the lack of ambient light is I use the watchmaker app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=slide.watchFrenzy to make my own watch faces or down load one where the "dim" part of the watch face is black.

I do not get the same kind of battery life as the others but I got mine when it first came out and I have found the more active I am the harder it is on my watch battery from counting steps and such. The battery will still last me until the end of the day but it has to be charged every night for me.

Thanks! Now I just have to find a good deal on it. I won't pay 200 since it was launched more than a year ago.

Definitely find a good deal. For just a little more than $200, you could get a ZenWatch 3. For the $350 this originally sold for, you might as well wait for the new LG Sport.

Has I said, the Huawei is by far the best looking still and it would be the only one that would make me want to replace my current Moto 360 1st generation. My opinion of course. ;)
