Yes Atrix and Bionic being launched on VZW's network does not make any sense. With previous iteration of the Bionic an Atrix release would have made sense.

Only thing that is known about the Bionic is that it's being redone so to claim, without even knowing anything about it, that it will be better in every single way is a ludicrous statement.

You are assuming that it will have DDR2, 13MP camera and sporting the TI OMAP 4. You can't make statements like that based on nothing but rumor. Wait till you get the facts before making comments like "Bionic will be out, and better in every single way than Atrix."

Perhaps saying "the Bionic will be out and if rumors of XY and Z are true it will be a better handset" would have been more fitting.

I'm not raining on your Bionic/Targa parade. I want you to be happy Preach. I'm just saying nobody knows what the heck is going on with it. Well thats not true, some do but they aren't saying.

I just want a device that works and not bloated down. It would be a bad year fir vzw if the tbolt turns out to be their best/ top selling device. I like the tbolt and with das bamf 1.6 the battery life has improved a lot, with that said its not that big of a stap over the dx. In other words, if you have a droid eris, droid 1, or lg ally then it would be a nice upgrade and worth a 2 year contract. If you have a d2, dx, incredible, or d2g then its not worth a 2 year contract, hence why I signed a 1 year. Yes it feel good to be able to try different roms and sense is much better than blur in my opinion, but that should be a secondary thought. If I ask you why you bought a device and the first thing you mention is because its unlocked then I dont know if its worth using a 2year on. If you mention other great features and you later you add that its unlockable then its definitely worth a 2 year contract. With bloatware getting worse I will not buy a device that cant be rooted.

Well said PC, we'll said. That has been my contention as well. If I have to have an unlocked bootloader to enjoy the handset then I'm not interested. I want to be able to enjoy it right out of the box as is. Unlocked bootloader is simply a bonus.

Husker I'm going with the Galaxy SII. I prefer it to be a 3G device at this point. I'm not up for beta testing Verizon's LTE network for them. I did enough beta testing for RIM to last me a lifetime

What good is LTE of you can't even hold a signal half the time. Ill wait until next year when the phones are up to par.

My 4th STORM 1 screen died, a day after I ordered my DROID Incredible a year ago April. Couldn't be happier with it, with Andorid, and DINC. RIM was a mess, and worse now.

Now eligible for an upgrade and awaiting news on the Bionic/Targa.

My 4th STORM 1 screen died, a day after I ordered my DROID Incredible a year ago April. Couldn't be happier with it, with Andorid, and DINC. RIM was a mess, and worse now.

Now eligible for an upgrade and awaiting news on the Bionic/Targa.

I may have read your comment wrong, but the screen on the charge is the exact same screen on the GSII. If you don't need dual core, the Charge would be a great phone since its got many of the great features of the GSII.

Just need to do the XDA lagfix hack, to improve the performance.

That is such a better "Form Factor" than the craptop. I always thought that the webtop would work better in a tablet form than a half ass attempt at a laptop.

I would be so much more for that than what the atrix has. I would probably get that if it was done properly.

I still think they should have it dock in the front, in place of the touchpad. Turn the phones screen off, but still use it as the touchpad. Though you could use the screen to show extra content or launch apps or something if you want, and balance the weight out with a battery in the back. Makes alot more sense than just wasting that big touchscreen when you dock it...

I've reed some where that Atrix uses 800MB for it regular duties as a smartphone & the remaining 224MB are reserved for the Web-Top when its not docked , but when its docked in "Web-Top mode" it uses more RAM
I think it was divided like this after the last couple of updates

Still , 800MB is allot of RAM (3x times bigger than my MileStone's 256MB)

- Regarding the Atrix being released on Verizon :

Yes , Motorola said (back in CES when they announced the Atrix) that it will come to both Verizon (set to be released In Q4) & Sprint (set to be released In Q3) , but that was before they re-designed the DROID BIONIC
I guess now it will be some sort of an Atrix variants (like the Galaxy S variants , one for every carrier)

We will see how that goes when they announce the Photon 4G today on Sprint
that will give us an idea on how much they improved the "Web-Top Mode" & we know what to expect from the DROID BIONIC

Makes sense. That's similar to what happened with the verizon nexus one last year. It turned into the incredible.
