Is the M9 better than the S6/G4?

Still doesn't touch the S6 in any form of light. I have used both phones, let's be honest in saying the S6 camera blows this phone out of the water.

Actually the S6 camera is just a little better than the M9 camera. And with the new update, the M9 does takes better daylight pics.

Had the s6e, have the m9, currently using the G4. Camera and screens are better on the s6 and G4. Rest of it is your preference honestly. Don't let the glass on the s6 get you excited, I learned the hard way, twice, not using a case with it. G4, even though it's plastic , has a solid build. M9 is my favorite feel and look. I think it's classy. M9 is very fast, update to camera helped a ton. The heating issue, only happens to me while charging and it just gets a little warm. The screen isn't as ridiculously sharp as in the s6 and G4, but it's still a very good screen.. Battery is decent, better than s6.

Honestly the m9 is a VERY good phone. I prefer the G4 but If I cracked the screen on my G4, I wouldn't be in a huge rush to get a replacement and I'd enjoy using the m9. Besides for me cracking the screen twice on my s6e, I had so many problems with lag I was happy to use the m9 again until the G4 came out. No more phones for me for 2015 😂 regardless what phone you choose, you won't go wrong. Hope I helped.

Eh bro! Did you check my post of how the M9 beats the S6 in daylight? http://forums.androidcentral.com/htc-one-m9/532810-htc-m9-beat-s6-daylight-new-camera.html
I have proved with photos taken with both devices that after the FW 1.40 M9 is actually giving more details at 100% crop than S6
In low light I agree the M9 is not better than my old SE C905, but I don't care as I am a daylight shooter.
RAW is also giving better results than S6 in daylight.
And yes I had the S6 for 20 days

The speakers are definitely top of the line. Truly enhances the media experience and there is a noticeable difference relative to other smartphones I've owned. It all depends on your personal preferences for what you like most in phones and how you use it. I for one must say that the HTC One M9 has been very versatile.

I'm a huge music fan and play music throughout the day constantly so the speakers were personally a big win for me. I also take lots of pictures so I appreciate the 20MP camera and front-facing UltraPixel camera. I've taken some great shots in manual mode and I know that there's a software update that came out improving the camera's photography skills in auto-mode (changed the algorithm to balance the right amount of exposure). Something as small as having a scratch-resistant coating to protect the metal backing was nice since I prefer not having a case on my phones (I do buy screen protectors though).

I love S6. The camera is better than the M9.

I have a co-worker super disappointed with his M9 and I was also super disappointed with the S6 Edge, but we both updated the phones (I'm on 5.1.1 now) and he's one something not sure but after our updated we both are happy with the phones.

I think it's a matter if what's important to you.

If I had to choose over again, I'd stick with my S6 Edge, but that's coming from a user that's only used the M9 for minutes at a time.

If you want:
-Whiter whites
-Slightly better camera in daylight
-Metal rock solid feeling
-Faster UI
-More complete set of basic apps like a full features Car app
-Stereo front speakers that will make gaming experience awesome
-A phone that doesn't look like other low end phones from 2 years ago in the same brand
-No pink tint on screen
-No board traces on the screen under sunlight
-An automatic BT connection that work with all BT devices
-No back that unglue because of trapped heat.
Well take an M9 :)

I recommend playing with them in store. Ever since I upgraded to 5.1.1 the UI performance has greatly improved. I don't remember much of my M8, but I'd say it was just as good as the S6 Edge now. If I'm not mistaken, only T-Mobile has 5.1.1 right now, so that's something to consider as well.

I don't have many things connected via Bluetooth, but it has no issues with my Jawbone UP3, VW CC, and my soundbar in my basement. I have also haven't experienced any issues with my back and my phone's gotten warm like crazy.

You can list pros and cons for each, but people will have bias' and these bias' may not be in line with what you care about, so I wouldn't listen to any "fanboyish" post and just listen to owners explaining why they like their phone when not compared to others. For example everything listed above can apply to the iPhone as well. It doesn't really have much value.

My genuine recommendation is to ask users what they dislike about their phones and compare that.

I dont really have any of those issues you mentioned with my S6e (agreed better UI and speakers), and I am trying to decide which phone to keep, since I currently have both. For me battery life has been about the same, and obviously there are a lot more devs working on the M9 right now, since we have S-off and unlocked bootloader. The s6e on 5.1.1 does not have root yet. I may end up keeping both devices, since I do like different thins on each phone.

The screen is definitely better on the s6. I dont think that you can wrong with any of the current flagships and they have plusses and minuses that each person needs to evaluate and decide- I can't decide right now...
