Is the name prediction within my texts accurate?

So I got my Note 8 a few weeks ago. Like a week after that, I met a guy online and got his phone number. Within like 3 or 4 text exchanges, a name popped up within our text chat. He told me his name was Jim, but the named that popped up was Tim B**, so I asked him about it and he said it was his real name and he wanted to know how i knew and i just said it was my phone! Over the next week weeks, the same thing happened, meet a guy, his name pops up, nothing great. But tonight, I met a guy, his name popped up and it was nothing like the name he told me and he tried to tell me my phone was wrong... Does anyone else's phone do this? and if so, it is accurate? I contacted Samsung as well, and the rep I spoke with state that's not a feature within the Note 8. *

Nothing important is on there. It's just a first and last name and none of them are on Facebook. I just need to know, if this thing is accurate or not?

It must be the phone cAller id picking up the phone numbers and associated it with a name

I changed the name on the first post for you.

As for the callerID being different than the name showing on a text or social media site, one has nothing to do with the other. Your name isn't Sequin Sunsets, I'm sure, but if we texted, I have an app that looks up your phone number and gets the CallerID from that (from your carrier), so it would show me your real name, as the carrier has it.
