It is allowed to fly. There is no recall/safety issue so it is just like every other phone.

The Note 7 only had the ban due to it being a safety concern.

I had the Note 4 with me flying to Phoenix during the height of the Note 7 debacle and the misinformed airport kept repeating "If you have a Galaxy Note Phone You cannot Take it on this flight." NOTE 7!!!!!!! IT's NOTE 7!!

I see some members can't respond to simply answer a question and either are resulting to insults/trolling. I do apologize to the OP for this and those comments have been cleaned up.

I will close the thread now to help prevent this and to have people realize that isn't how we post. The question was simple -- a simple answer is better then being a jerk for no real reason .

Again OP -- It is fine. All phones are fine to my knowledge. Only the Note 7 is flight banned due to the mass recall and safety issues.
