Hi -

I searched the forum and didn't see this anywhere.

Summary - Latest update on Galaxy A13 shows lock screen after blanking display every time. No password, just "swipe up". I want the lock screen display gone like it was before and to go straight to my home page.

What I've tried so far.

Set up password lock screen. Reboot. Set Lock Screen None. Reboot. Lock Screen still displays.

Clear credentials. Reboot. No joy.

Reset all settings. No change.

Wipe cache partition. Not a whiff of help there.

If there's a solution on the internet, I've tried it. Samsung customer service is clueless.

About the only thing I haven't tried yet is a factory reset. I fear this heroic gesture will be a waste of time as well.

I really don't want to keep swiping up dozens of times a day.

Anyone have any idea how to get rid of this annoyance? I haven't tried hiring an Exorcist yet, but I will if that'll rid me of the Lock Screen demon.

Help!

I really don't...
How do you want to turn on?
I have always used the power button. Power buttons are how you turn any machine on. But now instead of my widgets, it shows lock screen. I want lock screen display disabled.

I still don't get it. Lock screen can't be removed. There is no just screen off option, it's called lock screen. What do you want for shutting your display down?
Lock screen hasn't been on my phone for years and just showed up with the latest update. I use the power button to turn on and off my phone display and long power button press to totally shut it off and have for years. So lock screen can be removed.

Holy Cow! Something I did poking around in the internals of this mess managed to finally turn the Lock Screen off!!! No kidding!! It was working so seemlessly, opening directly to my wiget home screen, that I didn't notice for the longest time that the Lock Screen wasn't showing up any more.

I seriously have no idea how I did it. In the reply comments I said everything I did as I went along. I was also using Google One to back up the data and pics and it completed. ???

I just hope that posting this doesn't jinx it back.

Thanks for everyone's help.

the only problem with no security on your phone is some banking apps and mobile payments may not work. You should really check out smart locks under the security settings on your phone. You can set it up to unlock when picked up and kept on you, when linked to some blue tooth devices like a watch, and when in a certain trusted location.

I'm retired and I don't travel. All the apps I use work fine. I mostly use delivery services. I live out in the country and there's no crime here. I have no use for layers of security, they are just an annoyance. I keep Bluetooth disabled along with almost everything else they load in my phone. Getting a new phone is a real chore removing all the bloat ware and noise sources. I'm researching how to replace batteries in these phones so they can't force me to keep buying new ones when the batteries fail.

Machines are my slaves, not vice versa. If they don't follow my orders, they are useless. Convenience is everything.
