Is the note 8 front camera supposed to be blurry/low quality?

My front facing camera is blurry, i bought it used and didn't think anything of it.
Just really poor quality like it looks blurred that's how poor quality it is. Is this normal? My rear camera Is very good and wouldn't have thought samsung would release such poor quality on a front camera. I need it for work and the pictures need to be clear. I have cleaned the lens and nothings blocking it. Should I get it replaced? Is the phone faulty? Is this a issue that's known?

Mind sharing a sample picture? If it's blurry, chances are either the lens or protective glass is damaged (even tough it may not look like it is) or the camera sensor/lens are dislodged and, therefore, out of focus. Do all pictures from the front camera show like that in different apps (i.e. camera app, Facebook, Snapchat, 3rd party camera apps, etc.)?

The front camera sensor isn't nearly as good as the rear sensor, it's smaller and has a lower megapixel but should still produce a clear image in good lighting.

Seeing as the device is over 4 years old and you bought it used its possible the sensor isn't working right or simply isn't focusing correctly as mentioned above.

Welcome to Android Central! Does this also happen in Safe Mode? https://www.t-mobile.com/support/devices/android/samsung-galaxy-note8/safe-mode-samsung-galaxy-note8. If so, it's always possible the autofocus mechanism in that camera module has failed.
