Is the Note 8 going to be too big?

I totally get it... I've been waiting a long time too! Just for the heck of it, go watch the DirecTV video on the S8Active Forum - the thing is pretty amazing! Of course, so is their Marketing Department!!!

Lol yeah. Nice phone. My fiance is thinking of getting it. He using my verizon lg v20 right now. He wants to join AT&T so he can get that phone and bundle since we got directv. But hey more power to you man. Get what you want. But don't be a stranger. Lol.

Aside from the DirecTV thing... did you see that Samsung is finally going to release it to other Carriers later on? It may be a couple of months down the road, but finally, the Active WILL be available to more than just AT&T!!!

Actually no I didn't see that part. Thanks. Hopefully verizon gets it

Again, this is the wrong forum but I thought it was funny - I just checked the specs on the S8 Active and the Dimensions are all the same as the S7 Active except the height. The S8 Active is exactly 3.3mm taller than the S7 active... sound familiar? Weird - not even close to the same phone body.

Can't be big enough for me. I am using the S8 Plus and can easily manage it. So the slightly larger size won't be an issue. Can't wait for it to arrive.

Lol😆

Too big is very subjective, and often depends on what the criteria are.
Making one-handed usage increasingly difficult if not impossible. Yes, that and other devices can be too big for that.
But for two finger usage, particularly for text input that is actually potentially improved.
In viewing media when it is of the right aspect ratio.
And usability can be improved with the option for larger sized elements on the screen, something my father regularly has difficulties due to "fat fingers".

I personally think it needs to stop somewhere, or else we will have 'phones' like this:

We already have. Samsung's 8 inch tablets are released with network calling capabilities. All my tablets can be used that way. It's sometimes funny seeing people in the streets calling with their 7 or 8 inch tablets (I live in Southeast Asia). Some are more discrete and use headsets though.

It's ridiculously huge :-\

Granted this is a Prototype pic of the Note 8, but based on the DirecTV Video of the new Galaxy S8 Active I just saw, I think I may have just talked myself out of the Note 8 because of the size! I have gotten so used to the S7 Active that's been holding me over waiting for the Note 8, and it's "Beast" qualities and Battery Life, why the hell do I need a Dual Camera, an S-Pen and a way too Tall, Skinny $1000+ Note 8 when I can get the Galaxy S8 Active in two weeks with 4000mAh for supposedly $850 and keep on truckin'?

It's all about balance. If it's well balanced the way I hold it in one hand...then it'll be just fine when texting with two hands (one handed texting/keyboarding is a thing of the past) or just scrolling/thumbing up the screen with one hand.

I have not bought a phone, since my first one, without holding it and testing out the things that matter to me.

I'll get a slim fit case so there's a bit more to grip while using it and then have something to put it in, while it's in my purse.
