At $479 USD for the 6GB RAM + 64GB Storage version, or $539 for the 8GB RAM + 128GB Storage version... what do you think? Is the OnePlus 5 priced right?

For what we getting, specs wise. I think it's great value for money 😃 We might not be getting a QHD screen , water resistance or a MicroSD card but it looks really good and I think it's got the right price.

Kinda wish they had a OnePlus X2 which was a sub $300 device that would appeal to the lower price bracket audience.

Not an issue, when you pay over $1,000 CAN for Apple & Samsung. $749 is a bargain. LOL

It's reasonable considering the hardware on offer, but I can't help but feel that it's more of a sidegrade to the 3T

I think it's right at the best value for your money! Will be very interested in knowing what it will cost for those of us in Canada.

There's a few things about the device that I'm not into... No wireless charging, not a top tier camera, screen is a bit small for my liking, uncertain software updates... But at $479 I can see passed that. It's just low enough that I wouldn't be upset if I like the Pixel XL 2 or Note 8 in the fall and want to upgrade again.

I think the price is OK. But it's disappointing that in this day and age we don't have cycles of continual improvement and lower prices. It does suggest that the gains of Moore's Law and cheaper electronics are mostly tapped out. We're getting improvements in small things, but not at a high enough rate that allows better quality and cheaper prices every other year.

Not now the S8 is cheaper ( in the USA anyway). In that situation you would have to be a mentalist to be happy with the price.

No idea. Direct from Samsung. It is a trade in deal though, any working smart phone.

$200 - 300 off. Out same day as OP5. :)

Even without the deal you would have to be pretty hardcore to go for a OP5.

I'm thinking the same, the price is just low enough and it's just far enough away that I can probably justify it if I want one then.

Though Google will have to do something big for me to drink their "Kool-Aid" (what does that stuff taste like, anyway?). We're talking full dark theme, including notifications.

Actually there are/were LOTS of conditions on this offer. If you simply want to buy unlocked it's definitely NOT 200-300 dollars off!

What are the conditions? I know 4 friends who have taken it up. I know the discount depends on unlocked / att variety.

I am EU based, so no good for me. I have an unlocked BTU variant. As well as a Op3t.

Just going from your screenshots you need to trade a device in and wait 2-3 weeks... So there's a couple lol.

I figured it out the website wasn't very clear, BUT I seem to be able to get an unlocked one AND the 200 dollar credit IF I want, it's just cleverly buried. I only have 1 phone worth less than that, my Lumia 950. I think I'll stick with the OP5. Not really a big Samsung fan anyways. ;)

Yeah, seems to be a bit buried in there. But other than trading in some junker, not really any down points.

I was all set to buy the OP5. Bought a One, a release day 3 and a T.
Couldn't be more disappointed. Real shame. I might still buy a second hand one to **** about with.

Im not a Samsung fan either. Had (personal - rom'd S, S2, S3 and S3LTE work - S5, S6 and currently S7) many of them. Hated touchwiz. My current work 7 runs like a bag of nails. Although they are purely for work and not been altered since they came out the box.

The S8 is a different beast. Touchwiz is dead, long live touchwiz. Just works. Pairs / syncs / works with everything far easier. Loving its Fw.

Although in the UK, buying new, the price is still high.
No price deals or BOGOF for us ( US carriers running buy one get one free on the G6)
