Android Central Question

All,

BLUF: Is the P20 Pro capable of allowing its user to browse the internet while it functions as a hotspot? [I can't]

I just purchased a Huawei P20 Pro about 2 weeks ago, and it seems like a great phone. First off, I factory reset the phone prior to use and I haven't changed any major settings.

When I set up the P20 Pro to act as a hotspot, it broadcasts a SSID, I can connect my laptop to the hotspot and connect to the internet (browse to google) with no problem. The problem is with the hotspot enabled on the P20 Pro, I am unable to browse anything via the P20 Pro at the same time.

Any ideas? My old Google Pixel XL was able to function as a hotspot and browse at the same time. Is this not a capability of the P20 Pro? Any help is appreciated!

Thanks for responding. It is dual sim but I only have one SIM card in at the moment. I am using the SIM 1 slot.

SOLUTION FOUND!

Go into Settings > Wireless & Networks > Mobile Network > Access Point Name > and Delete the "Hotspot APN".

Once you do this happy browsing from your device!
