All the Verizon stores in my area now carry 128GB Pixel XLs in stock, which is a first for this device. I've been interested in trying out the Pixel. Is it still worth getting when the new one will be out in only a few months?

It's an awesome phone! I can understand the "I want it now" attitude. I'd be more inclined to say get it now and sell later if you want the Pixel 2.
For years I've had an Android phone and an iPhone. When the Android slowed or bogged down, I'd return to my trusty iPhone. No more! The Pixel pulled me completely away from Apple. iPhone 7 is on eBay now. The Pixel is smooth as silk and has never glitched or stuttered on me. Best phone I've ever had. And I've had a lot... Probably too many. At least that's what the wife says.

I'd say get it now, the 2nd gen is about 4 months away. The experience u get is awesome, fast performance, nice battery and probably the best camera. It's the best phone right now, and if u like the 2nd gen sell the pixel and get it. It's worth it, believe me
I would wait, It should be coming out by oct ( I"m guessing) and RCS should be around the corner as well

Maybe find a used one on Craigslist to tide you over till the P2 comes out. I just got one to replace the Samsung S8+ and the Pixel XL is just so much better overall. The only things I really miss from the S8+ are the gorgeous screen and the IP68 (given Vancouver's weather, that is sorely needed). I hope the P2 is water resistant like the S8+, because that would be just perfect for my needs.

After how much you bad mouthed it when it came out at the time you had the s7 edge, now you want it!!!!?????
I would not get it now when a new one is coming out soon. I had it and loved it but felt that it was an iPhone without iMessage and FaceTime. I figured I may as well have the iPhone

I'd say get it now. Until Sunday if you use Google financing you get $75 off in two months. Which is basically two months worth of payments free. Keep it mint and you'll be able to get a good chunk of what you owe back when you get the iPhone 8 or Pixel 2 in the fall.

For whatever reason the pixel resale value is not good. You can get a used XL for $475. I don't think it is worth buying now

The recent sold average on Swappa of Google edition 128gb XLs is $698. Looks to me like they're holding some value.

Yeah. These phones have surprisingly held their value well. It's one of the only Android phones I've seen do this well. They're pretty much on par with used iPhone 7 and 7 Plusses.
