Is The Sensation Worth A 2 Year Contract ?

AT&T or not?

the real question is, will it work with AT&T bands??????????????????????? if not, then what's the point..

My concern about the Sensation is the unibody design.Looks real well-built but it seems there's little hope of getting an extended battery for it.IMO LG made the right call with Vanilla Android on the G2x.Let Google handle the OS updates while LG focuses on the hardware.HTC is usually the best when it comes to OS updates so the Sensation will be in good hands.

My concern is the version of Snapdragon, when will we see 8960? That will be a monster SOC. Also after seeing Moto use a 1930mAh battery I'd like to see OEM's go larger.

The processor used is the 3rd Gen one which is normally Clocked at 1.5ghz however it is underclocked for temperature and batttery. The benchmarks are some of the highest and that's just stock. Imagine overclock. And custom roms. It outperforms the ipad 2 and have graphics of an xbox. Couple that with HTC software its a really good package. I have tried all sorts of Roms and I just love stock. But I know the hardware is there and price is right.

He made a mistake. The msm8x60 actually includes the adreno 220 not 205 and in pretty sure it is cortex a9

I believe it does have the Adreno 220 even though as a GPU I haven't been impressed with it. Isn't it even a lesser GPU to the already heavily used hummingbird/powervr series that Samsung has been using in the Galaxy S series? Everything I find on the SoC indicates it's A8 based. MSM8260

Samsung Exynos, formerly Orion, seems like it'll be amazing but I'm not fond of their industrial design :-/ I'm still waiting for a handset that really tempts me, perhaps Tegra 3 right around the holidays, hopefully...

I'm hurting so bad even the iphone5 holds promise right now. Blasphemy, I know. Limited, but what they do, they do well and my son loves the platform. Though I give up Flash and true multitasking plus notifications and customizations, some of which I get back with jailbreak.

I will wait to pick up the Sensation a few days after release. I want the phone badly but will wait to see final benchmarks and actual user's reviews. I am off contract right now but would consider resigning a two year contract so I can keep my rates/grandfathered plan if this AT&T thing actually takes place. Been with Tmob for 9 years now and not looking to switch any time soon... so if a contract will keep me there for 2 more years with the same great plans, phones and service.. why not. I will buy the rest of my phones at full price anyways. :D

@ uberspeed. Your right about the cortex version. I just assumed because it was 3g that it would be newer. I know the adreno 205 in the desire HD inspire thunderbolt etc just outperforms the gpu in the iPhone. The SGX535. This is because the cpu msm8255 doubles the performance because it is very efficient and the one in the Thunderbolt is even better. It's capable of running unreal engine 3 a tad better. However have noted the galaxy s SGX540 the one up offers slightly more shadowin than adreno. So both however are better than the iPhone. The iPad has cortex a9 which destroys the tegra 2 because they use the Apple a5 chip to the maximum. The "3g" snapdragon uses the 220 which offer better than SGX 540 and equaling tegra 2. Just not exactly a5. However the. Exynos/Orion variant offers even better than tegra 2. Exynos>a5>3g snapdragon> tegra 2 in my opinion. However I might get the iPhone 5 of they make it stand out compare to the iPad 2 lie 3d or something. But I believe the sensation is ultimately better the. Galaxy s2 simply because, it wont lag. The galaxy s users get annoyed people say the original desire is better. The s has better specs but its buggy. The users spout, oh but with lagfix Rom and voodoo its so quick. The thing is , half the people in the world that have a galaxy s do not .even know how to do that. So out the box I prefer the desire. The sensation will NOT lag no gps issues or sound problems it will be quicker qnd even better than desire HD plus slcd qhd and more fancy animations I will always choose the sensationr because out the box its better. You can argue later, but it would be amazing.

Any phone is worth having - if it work for you. Apparently - that's the way it is now with every, or most phone company (2 years.
