AC Question

Recently my G4 has overcome the issue where, half of my screen goes black. At this point, its permanent. I ordered a new screen and replaced it correctly, only to still have that problem. But with the old screen, the touch still worked, new screen, the touch no longer worked. Is it an issue with my G4's hardware? Software? Or did I just order a bad screen? Want to know before I order another

Could be anything...bad screen, bad motherboard, broken flex or connector, software. Repairing a phone yourself can sometimes cost more than a replacement phone, unless you're 100% sure which part is faulty. That said, there's no way for anyone to troubleshoot the phone for you via a forum.

Even if they tell you what they did, it may not apply to your phone. I'm sure some have just replaced the screen and it worked for them. However, it didn't work for you because your case appears to be different. Say the replacement screen you got is bad, but then someone here tells you they had to replace the motherboard, and so you go out and buy one, and it doesn't fix the problem. Here you are buying a motherboard because you happened to get a bad screen from a supplier and you didn't know. Big waste of money! Your best bet is to take it to a repair shop so they can isolate the problem for you. Without isolation, it's just a guess... especially on a forum.

Yeah that's very true. Repair shops are usually pretty costly though, sadly. That's why I've been trying to narrow it down and by the part myself. But I suppose ill have to take it to a repair shop. Thanks for the input!
