Is the T-Mobile REVVL 4 Plus compatible with SDXC cards?

My REVVL 4 plus won't read my 64GB Sans Disc Extreme SDXC.

Are SDXC cards even compatible?

Where did you get this card from? Does it work in other devices? There's always the possibility that the card is dead or counterfeit.

Oops. I thought that I had already signed in.

The card is a 64 GB Sans Disc Extreme SDXC; I bought it direct from Amazon.

I also noticed the "SDXC...up to 256 GB" specs on the Metro site. This card also has some advanced features, A2 Class and U3.
It's my understanding that if the phone it's on has lower ratings, the card will automatically run at the slower speed(s).

The card works on my computer.

My phone recognizes it and lists it in Files, with the correct storage amount. It even successfully formats and "is ready to use..."
However, any process after that fails.. adding a new folder, a file, etc.

When I tried my old 4 GB SDHC, it worked flawlessly.

My guess is that the phone is expecting a standard A1/U1 card, and it's getting confused with the higher rating.

That's interesting, I've never heard of that happening, but what you describe seems to make sense. You don't happen to have access to another SDXC card you can try on the phone, do you?

U1/U3 is the speed the card can run at. Can run at - if the phone asks it to. It can also run in a slower environment.

The phone handles SDXC - that should work up to 2 TiB. (They can't implement a "64GB SDXC - it either supports to 2 TiB, or it's not SDXC.) I'd contact SanDisk - their online support is pretty good. A SanDisk Extreme card carries a lifetime warranty (that's a minimum of 30 years - Germany limits "lifetime".) Try SanDisk microSD Tech Support - upper right corner, Chat Live. At worst they'll replace the card.

I'm just gonna return it and buy a different card. I don't really have anymore time to troubleshoot this specific card, and returns are quick and painless on Amazon.


I'm not heavily reliant on the SD, especially with this phone's 64 Gb of onboard storage. I mainly use it to hold music and large files, so I have no need for the upgraded ratings on the Extreme anyway.
