is the V20 encrypted by default

I was going through the settings and I noticed I don't have the option to encrypt the phone just the SD card I'm on Tmo.

Good question!

Google actually made some big changes in Android Nougat. Whole partition encryption has been replaced with a file-based encryption solution. There is also encryption key storage in hardware now as compared to software.

The LG v20 is encrypted by default...there is a article detailing this somewhere
