Is their a problem with the battery door?

I went into my local Corporate Verizon store to look t the Nexus. I notices they had 2 pieces of black electrical tape on each side of the cover to hold it on.....anyone else having issues with the door?

It's because of the way they attach the phones to the kiosks. They stick something on the battery door and inevitably when someone pulls on it, it pops the door off. They need to find a new way to attach the devices to the tables basically.

There was one post on here that a user reported his battery door was lose. Took it back to them and they tried one from a different phone and it fit snug. They ended up ordering him a new one. So I think there may be some random issues floating around possibly. Nothing in mass though or it would be all over this forum for sure.

Yeah I noticed that at the Verizon I went to as well. I had no issue whatsoever with my battery door, but theirs wouldn't stay closed because of the stupid way they display phones.

Not to mention you can buy the replacement battery doors on the Verizon's website for like 5 or 6 bucks, so they are easy to replace if it gets loose or whatever.

That was me who posted that, and as an update I've kinda bent/warped the door to get it to fit snugly until my new door arrives next week. It's still a little loose in the middle but it don't creak and squeak when I type anymore! lol

When I was in the store the manager told me he has held several nexi (really?) and mine was the only he had noticed with the door issue, so I don't think there's a widespread issue at all I just happened to be the lucky one. As far as the door tape, I've seen this in 3 separate stores. Like someone else said, it's because the way they put the security band on the battery inside the door cover. Kinda stupid really the way they do it.

I was looking at the display Nexus at the store Thursday while waiting for the lady to go get me one from the back. I picked the display model up off of the stand to take a closer look, and the stupid attachment thing ripped the door right off of it. Everyone heard it fall back down. I was just standing there like, "WTF?" Woman ran up and fixed it for me. I'm sure they put tape on that one at some point during the day.

I guess my store bypassed it then. They had their displays, two of them, in two different sales people's pockets. When someone would inquire they would pull it out and let them use it. According to one of them one was a display, the other was the SME's phone.
