Is there a "dark" mode for the OS?

Just find the bright white of most of the GUI kind of glaring. It would be nice if there was an option to switch to a dark mode. If there is one, could someone please point me to how to do it?
Thanks.

Not possible with stock options, I'm afraid. I don't mind the color though, as long as I'm using AutoBrightness, I guess.

From what I understand no matter what is showing on the screed of an lcd uses the same power. So it shouldn't have any difference in battery life using a black or a white background.

Thanks for the replies. Just wondered if I haven't found the "dark" feature yet, or if it doesn't exist yet. Hopefully it will be implemented just for the sake of the option.

Correct, different color schemes only have a significant effect on battery life on OLED displays, where true black is achieved by just turning that pixel off, something not possible with LCD. Different colors in LCD do require different energy levels, just not different enough to make a difference like they do on OLED ones.

I wonder if 3rd or 4th gen will be AMOLED. You'd think that would be the wave of the future for everything, especially power sensitive devices.

AMOLED, if memory serves right, is also not as readily available and only a handful of suppliers have a grip on the market, which is one of the reasons LCD is still a popular choice (that and 'truer' color reproduction, usually better viewing angles and sunlight performance, cost, etc.)

I sooooo wish there was a dark theme. Next to the Gear S2, Moto 360 2nd gen looks anemic, washed out. It was almost the deal breaker but went with Moto for appearance and Google based
