IS there a phone exploit that will kill my wifi ?

the wifi comes back with cannot scan network and the phone part says can not find mobile network although I can send and receive text messages and connect to the internet. Where the phone bars signal strength is , there is a circle with a line through it. I have tried doing the factory reset and rooting the phone, still the same. Does the phone have a bios ?
