Is there a photo app that will let me see my folders when posting a photo to Facebook?

Coming from an iPhone background, I am accustomed 2 clicking on the photo icon in Facebook and my default photo app letting me choose a photo from any of my folders. With the Android, all that comes up is the camera feed and I have to go through many, many photos to find the one I want. I know a workaround is to start in photos and post to Facebook but that is very inconvenient. Hasn't Android come up with a way to accomplish this? Would changing to another photo app make a difference? So far, this is one of the things I hate about Android vs iPhone. Thanks

Unfortunately that's how the Facebook app is coded. It doesn't 'call' the Gallery app (or any other app), it only accesses the media files and displays them.

The only 'workaround' to this is to open the Gallery app (or any app that shows the files, could even be a File Explorer), select the picture you want and select the SHARE button.

Again, this is not an 'Android' thing, it's the way Facebook coded their app, so the 'suggestion' has to go to them.

Yeah. Not sure what happened. Facebook on Android before called up the gallery app and you see folders. After it updated some time ago, it decided that it doesn't want to do that anymore.

If it's a facebook thing, why does it work perfectly with iphone?

Because their app teams for iOS and Android are different and for some things, they add different features and ways of doing things, not to mention that iOS and Android might have different things that devs can implement on their apps restricted or allowed.

In the end, it wasn't 'Android' that decided that Facebook's app would use its own 'Gallery' for sharing media, it was Facebook's team developing the Android app.

I was on the beta testing and in a group with the developers for years. When the developers changed that to the camera roll and all 30 of us screamed constantly and FB developers literally ignored our posts about it, I stopped testing for FB.

For what ever reason, FB Android seems to have no intention of changing that. It is a PITA to scroll through pictures.
