I'm curious, is there a prefered way to uninstall apps? Like via Play Store or the devices Uninstall option? I know in the older Windows world it was considered the prefered way to use the uninstall application that came with the program. My question is, does it matter whether I just select the app and select the uninstall option or is it better to go into the Play Store and uninstall it there?

Both methods are likely identical, but it may be a good idea to first clear the app data to limit residual data that may get left behind.

Absolutely uninstall from the actual device. There's no trashcan on an android. Then cancel it from your personal apps list. Make sure it wasn't synching (depends on the developer) in the background and restores a portion of the apk in the future. A bad app which had permissions it should not have had needs to be removed completely. This is a good standard delete sequence. Throw in a cache partition clear and a reboot and assure yourself it's gone with data size explorer when you feel like it.
