I used to have Tango, which sucked. Video extremely choppy and poor. Skype is horrible, and with Qik, the video is excellent, but the sound is so low that even in a totally quiet environment, I can't hear the other party. They're on Qik and have the same problem.

I tried going back to Tango, but now I can't get my number to register. It keeps going in circles, and Tango support is useless.

For Pete's sake, isn't there a video chat program that actually frickin' works?!?

Yep, go into the market and get "Yahoo Instant messenger and yahoo messenger plugins.

Enjoy.

OK, I downloaded the plug-in, but how the hell does one use its video chat feature? Dumbass me can't seem to find that. :p

I used to have the same problem with Tango but then downloaded the update and it works fine now. Do you have the latest version?

Yes, it just won't register me for some dumb reason. I keep trying to get it to send me an SMS verification message, but it doesn't.

Yahoo's video chat is really bad. Don't know why that would be recommended. What issues are you having with Tango? I use both QIK and Tango and love them both. We also shouldn't expect perfect quality either, considering 3G is not even fast enough for this.

When I first tried Tango, the video was so choppy it was unbearable. I uninstalled it then. That was a couple months ago. I downloaded the latest version this weekend, but I'm unable to get my account verified. It won't SMS me a verification msg. As far as Qik, the video is excellent, but the sound is inaudible.

Just learn sign language and use qik. lol

I still can't believe we still don't have a stable video chat app. Skype needs to give us video chat.

What connection are you using? 3G or Wi-Fi? Again 3G will never be good on any video chat program.

It should work fantastic over 4G. But on 3G don't expect it to be much of anything at all. Most Sprint 3G never exceeds 1mb. At least on my computer video chat demands a lot of bandwidth.

I am surprised someone hasn't mentioned Fring yet. Tried Qik and hated it. I remembered some of the early AC articles about the EVO mentioning Fring as the one to try (it was about the time that Qik was going to charge the $5 monthly fee).

Anyway - for my wife and I, Fring works perfectly. It is full duplex and free. Try it out.

Follow the instructions below. This feature works great for me. I've tried all the others mention and I wasn't happy with none.

You press Menu from the conversation window. Then hit Video.

Yahoo messenger is loads better than anything else I've ever used.

try clearing cache/data in settings>application for tango.

I don't understand why your so high on Yahoo's video chat. Even the video chat on the PC and Mac is horrid and the quality is sub-par at best. Tango and QIK are both miles ahead, but you do need a good connection in order to have a pleasurable video call.

I did. There wasn't any cache to clear anyway. I uninstalled Tango. I'm not going to use a program that won't even activate a user correctly and won't respond to customer service Email requests.

F--- them.

Sprints 4g still has pretty high latency so it will still be a little choppy no matter the app. Wifi would always be best if quality is what your looking for.
