Is there a video chat program that actually WORKS?!?

So if I want to use Tango, it appears the person I want to chat w/ also has to have Tango? Shouldn't I be able to chat w/ anyone who has video chat capabilities? Got my fiance to download Tango but her Iphone flips video upside down )-:

I tried Tango and the video was horrible. I use yahoo im and the picture is excellent on wi-fi and it is pretty good on 3G definitely better than Tango.

Just learn sign language and use qik. lol

I still can't believe we still don't have a stable video chat app. Skype needs to give us video chat.

The Skype/Fring combo when it was working was still the best I've seen, and I've tried pretty much everything for video on the EVO. It's ridiculous, you get a phone with a front-camera and nothing takes advantage of it yet.

Even with the "Supposedly Audio Fix" in the last update of Tango •> The audio and video still sucks on 3g or 4g... not everyone have wifi connection.

I honestly think we're not (100%) ready for video chat on mobile.(IMO)

I didn't see a video chat option with the Yahoo app, is that another app where the other user must have Yahoo chat as well? If so, is it available on the I-store/market?

You have to download the Yahoo Messenger plug in for video. It's a memory hog, FYI.

downloaded the plug-in but still didn't see a video chat/call option. Since I am rooted and flashed to CM7 RC4, I'm not sure if it affects some apps, but Tango seems to be sending upside down video from my front facing camera, and Qik when downloaded doesn't work at all, giving: this version of Android not supported. Guess I'll take my question to the 'Hacks/rooted' section to see if some of the issues can be resolved by the folks working on similar software.
