Hi All,
A quick question: Is there a way to adjust/add to the auto-correct dictionary for the physical keyboard of the XPRT? I did some googling and it seems that this is possible on other Android phones if you install one of the third party keyboards, but that doesn't help much for this phone considering I'll hardly ever be using the onscreen keyboard.

An example of what I'd like: Type "u" and have it autocorrect to "you".

I just moved to the XPRT from my old Palm Pre and am (very) slowly getting used to Android, so your help is appreciated.

Thanks,
Alex

As far as I know there is not. You can make it auto-correct spelling, auto punctuate, and other stuff in the "keyboard and language" part of the settings. Heck it will even allows you to make your own dictionary. (words you don't want corrected) but as of yet I cant find a setting like you're talking about for the physical keyboard.

That's about the only thing I miss about my Blackberry.

Thanks for the reply. Maybe they'll bring that along with Gingerbread, who knows. Although at the moment, I'm more worried about the 3 lockups of the phone I had over the weekend. Had to pull the battery out to reset it. Not a great start.

The only lock-ups I ever experience with the XPRT are when I am trying to play Turbo 3d... As I have mentioned before, that game also froze my Epic so I know where the problem lies when that happens.

Cheech4 said something about using the task manager auto end feature causes lock-ups, so you might check into that.

yes i said dont use it, lol or if you have to use it only use it on the apps you downloaded and nothing involving the phone itself.

Well it hasn't locked up since Sunday, so things are looking up. And I haven't configured the auto-end feature at all, so that shouldn't be an issue.

So I thought I might have found a way to modify the autocorrect dictionary, at least for SMS, by using Handcent. There is a place in the app to modify it, but for some reason anything I add doesn't seem to be working.. Maybe I'll e-mail the developer and see if they can explain. Have any of you tried this?
