Is there a way to automatically silence during work?

I am a relatively new Motorola Droid Turbo user. My phone is usually on either silent or really loud. I've found the "Sleep" mode which has been helpful and I see that there is a "Meeting" mode which is great. But is there a way that I can set the phone to just vibrate from 8AM to 6PM Monday through Friday? This seems to be such a simple thing and I'm wondering why this is not a primary option. Is there a way to do this that I am not seeing?

Thank you!

Welcome to the forums. I can't remember if the Moto Asist app can have multiple silence entries, but there are apps that you can set up at certain times to go silent. Tasker is one (paid) and AutomateIt is another (free/in app purchases) Both can be set up for a time so that when you are definitely at work, the phone will go silent.

Tasker: https://forums.androidcentral.com/e...=net.dinglisch.android.taskerm&token=0uDJoRL9

AutoMateIt: https://forums.androidcentral.com/e...ails?id=AutomateIt.mainPackage&token=A53BN3ag

Tasker does really well. Especially if there is a unique WiFi SSID at your work.

The Assist has a feature that can make the phone silent while you have any of your calendars with events. So, if you make a calendar for work, put in a weekly repeating event that happens every MTWTF during your work hours, and set the assist app to use that calendar to silence your phone while you are in a meeting, it will do what you want.

That said, those other apps are good, too... I've used all of them (except AutomateIt) at some point since I've owned an Android phone, they all will work for this purpose. But, if you don't want to install another app...

There's a scheduling app that can report on the cell towers your phone is in proximity to. You can use that app (and I'm sorry I don't remember its name) to silence the phone when the phone gets close to that cell tower. If there is more than one cell tower near your work, the phone could go silent when it is close to both of them, thus narrowing down the area that the phone would go silent in.

If your hours are fixed, Apps like Timeriffic can silence the phone at certain times. I use it to silence the phone every night and turn the sound back on in the mornings, at different times depending upon whether i go to work on those days.

I use MacroDroid to put my phone on vibrate automatically when I get to work. Many ways to do this but if you sit in the same spot and connect to WiFi at work you can use that connection. Or, if you are at work at the same time everyday you can set a time span. Or, you can have it go to vibrate when at a certain GPS location or if you don't have GPS enabled when a certain group of cell towers are being used. Worth giving a look as it does a lot more than that too :)

I use Tasker to cut my volume levels to half when connected to my work Wifi. It works great.
