Is there a way to change my LTE bands? Honor 8x

[Android Central Question]

I just got this phone from AliExpress (Honor 8x)
everything about the phone works great besides the Cellular Service. Im only getting 2g. I did some research and discovered that my phone really doesnt support my carriers LTE bands (T-Mobile). I've been looking to see if its possible to change the bands. I think I saw something about rooting my phone to do so? Any suggestions if its even possible?
