Is there a way to custom organize photos in an album?

I have a Samsung Z Flip 5G

Is there a way to custom organize photos in an album?

Can I drag an individual photo and rearrange the order of the photos in an album?

I know this can be done on iPhone, haven't figured out how/if it can be done on Samsung.

Unfortunately not with stock options. You may be able to find a 3rd party Gallery app that allows this, but the stock ones from Google (Photos) and Samsung (Gallery) only allow you to sort media by date/name, not with a customized order (unless you edit the file name and 'force' the custom sorting that way).

Welcome to Android Central! Keep in mind that Google Photos creates virtual albums that don't depend on physical directories on the phone's storage. One advantage of this is that one photo can be in multiple albums without having to create multiple copies of that same photo.

If you create an album in Google Photos, you can edit the order of those photos to your liking.

But the main photos feed in Google Photos can only display in order of the date taken -- so that's where you're correct.

Yeah, Samsung’s default gallery doesn’t let you freely drag and reorder photos like iPhone does you can only sort by date or name. A third-party gallery app might help though. It’s a bit like using bamboo shoe racks sometimes you need the right setup to get everything neatly in order.
