Is there a way to hide sms notifications from specific number?

For instance I'm a former xiaomi user, i once got annoyed by notifications(especially sms), which some of them are confidential, popping up when there is a new sms, and sometimes i am showing someone something on my phone. They then see the firat couple of words from the sms content.

So, if there is a way to hide sms notification content(only) or have soecific number to not show notification popups.

That is a feature (or not) of the SMS app you are using.

Which phone?
Which version of android?
Which carrier?
Which SMS app?

"Textra" has the option of "ignoring a conversation" so that no notifications for that thread are sounded/displayed. I assume that some of the other big-name SMS apps have a similar feature.

Your phone should also have the option of "hide sensitive data" for notifications so that the SMS text is not displayed in the notification.
