Question Is there a way to disable share from tapping into my contacts?

When I go to share a pic I typically want to share it to my discord or my trello. One wrong tap away from sending it to a contact i didn't mean to, and that's right at the top. Is there a way to disable that and leave only the apps? Thanks

Oh yeah and the phone is motorola 5g power 2023, android 13

Even if its not doable from settings, is it associated with a process i can kill? If I kill quickshare will that stop it?

Welcome to Android Central! What app are you trying to share from? The Camera app (i.e., immediately after taking the shot), the Gallery app (and please let us know if this is the Google Photos app or some other stock Gallery app), or something else?

This and other issues with Share have been a complaint of many Android users. To many the selections seem random and arbitrary making most look for ways to just adjust the options to people and apps that they actually talk to and share through. So far Google in all of their wisdom has not given users much control over these lists. I did find one thread at Google Support that may show a way to disable contacts though. It's from 2019 so this may or may not still be relevant.

Thanks! I think that worked, clearing storage > messenger. I'm worried it erased something else i might've wanted to keep though, but worth it. Mom and Dad still appear under contacts from a photo send if I go to "more" but this is better. I could not find the direct share options of the last poster in that thread.

Yeah Google and its "updates". This was from 2019 so there's a good chance they updated Share and took out this option but I'm glad you found something helpful.
