Is there a way to increase max volume through the stock or other music player?

The G3 does not seem to put out as "hot" a signal as other devices I've had. And my car amplifier is not particularly loud. I'd like to increase the max volume. Any way to do this?

There's a hack on XDA Forums you can do to the mixer.xml file if you are rooted. As long as you're not on Verizon.
