Is there a way to merge contacts on Honeycomb?

I know you can do this on phones (e.g. join Google contacts with a Facebook, Skype, Twitter, and MySpace accounts), but I haven't been able to figure out how to do this on my tablets. I've got both a Xoom and a Galaxy Tab 10.1, and when I sync my Skype contacts it just creates ten thousand new contact entries instead of merging them together.

Am I doing something wrong?

It's definitely not, on either tablet. Skype is probably the worst offender, it just takes your ten thousand Skype contacts and creates new entries for all of them despite being checked to sync with existing contacts.

I did this manually since i dont have many skype contacts in my asus TF:
go to contacts app and select one of your skype contact you want to merge.
in the top right hand corner, there should be an edit button, click it
it should say skype contact is not editable here, that's okay. Again, in the top right hand corner, click on more menu and select "join"
select the other contact you want to merge. DONE
