Is there a way to restore my pictures after changing android

Hi all. With the realease of JellyBean I wanted it as much as any other and it is worth it, but I forgot to make backups of my pictures and everything I had on my phone got lost. I'm with Samsung Galaxy Ace 2. I had installed kies on my PC. Now I'm asking is there a way to reroll back to yeasterday when I had my pics or are they lost for good ?

Installing the jellybean update through Kies should not have erased any media or apps you had previously installed. Even your settings should have stayed the same. Going back to ICS or which ever version you had previously will not get your pictures back, plus going back to a previous version is a whole other process. I'm not sure why you lost your pics after the update but you can try an app called "dumpster". I tries to recover deleted media files from your card or phone. I was able to recover pics that accidentally got deleted from my card.

By chance had you stored your pictures in folders that you created? A lot of people who did that are finding the pictures no longer appear in the gallery. They may still be on your phone, but the gallery is only looking in the default folder. Examine the device with your PC to see if you can find the orphaned folder(s).

Well I used this guide here: How to Install Official 4.1.2 Jelly Bean on Galaxy Ace 2 - YouTube . I followed it correctly and my Ace 2 lost all it had but my moms still had her games. When she went in galery tho there weren't no pictures taken with the galaxy ace camera only those in the micro sd card ... And she got angry with me ... Now I want to return them to her ... will try what u said




Found no pictures when I used USB cabel and went through every folder of the GA2... and the "dumbster" didn't find any deleted/formated or what ever happened to the photos.

After watching the vid you posted I know why you lost all your pics. You did not use Kies to update, as you first posted. The only reason the instructions included Kies was so that your computer had the drivers to detect the phone. The method in the video is using Odin to flash a rom onto the phone. You are not updating android with this procedure, you are essentially replacing the android operating system on your phone with a modded or adapted version. This method erases all data on the phone which is why in the video he tells you to make a backup of everything you want to keep.

Sorry but any pictures and/or data on the phone is lost. Only stuff on the micro sd card is not touched.
