Is there a way to shut off the annoying boot up "Droid" sounds?

I know there was a setting in other phones I've had to make shut down and boot up silent but I can't seem to find it in the DNA settings.

Help ;-)

I'm not sure it's possible without rooting, I think there are options in the custom ROMs to mute the sound.

Only way I've found on stock is to put the phone on vibrate before you turn it off. Sucks but it works.
