Is there an alternative to using 2 step verification through phone number or one-time security code?

I've lost access to the phone number and device I used to set up my Samsung account My sim card melted after the battery went supernova and flash-melted every plastic component. And instead of writing it down, my one-time security code was saved to my now melted phone. No longer able to access my old phone number or make use of the fail-safe; is there any alternative route I can use to verify that I'm the owner of the account?

Not sure about Samsung but Google offers email verification as well so perhaps Samsung does also.

I mean on the one hand, we see stories like this all the time, and one would have to admit that this one is way out there in the realms of circumstance and chance. Then not just getting the same number on a new SIM on a different device is peculiar to say the least. On the other hand most of nefarious folks who post with these claims don't create an account... I'm torn.

Guess we'll know if they reply.

Your phone number should still be good. Once you get a replacement phone, your carrier will set it up with your existing phone number, which would keep your current 2FA functioning.
