Android Central Question

Hello dear friends,

Being a music fanatic and the exquisite sound quality is what pumps my heartbeat, I have filled up my 64GB mini sd with marvelous classicals under the FLAC audio coding format giving it more dept once blasting it through the earphones.

The 64GB mini SD is inserted in my Android phone, I've downloaded numerous apk/apps, some were free, others weren't; but I couldn't find one app which was capable of going through the Mini SD and playing the FLAC music.

Once the files were put internally on the phone storage, it works fine; but I am looking to play from the massive mini sd storage.

Any suggestions on which app could work?

Thank you for your time

Welcome to Android Central!

Which phone are you using? Not all of them support all of the available audio encoding formats, so you might want to research your phone's capabilities before trying other music-playing apps.

Hello DJ,

Thank you for your quick reply.
The phone is OPPO F5, and it is capable of reading and playing FLAC files. Like I stated in my question, I have succeeded in playing the FLAC files once they were stored in the phone storage. However, the phone storage is limited, hence I bought a 64GB to fill it up and have FLAC apps play the FLAC music directly from it.

Would you happen to be aware of a FLAC app able to read from the mini SD?

Thank you

Your phone's built-in music player should be able to access content regardless of where it's stored, provided that it has permission to read it. Does the default music app have permission to access content on the SD card? Or is there perhaps a setting that tells it which directories to scan for content?

If not, I've used a few alternative apps, and my favorite is PowerAmp:

Hello DJ,

Just to keep you posted, I downloaded BlackPlayer EX, paid for it, gave it permission to read the MiniSD. It worked great.

Thank you for your assistance
