Is there an app or method to make an e-mail into a reminder?

Why not use Google Calendar? If you add a new event, you can set when it reminds you.

The web based version of GMail does something similar when it sees a date in the email, and I could see a use for it on Android. So maybe a menu item added in the mail app that let's you add a reminder? Would it be based off a date in the e-mail? If not, would a simple popup dialog work, allowing you to just enter some text?

I ask because it sounds like a good app idea, and something that could be knocked out in a couple days.

That's not what he's asking. He doesn't want to leave the email app just to jump over to the calender to create the reminder.

It's a pretty easy app to create, like I mentioned in my post above. I was looking for some input from you (or anyone) on some useful features. Thought since you are looking for an app like that you'd have some ideas.

Regardless, you don't mention if you are using the GMail app, or the Email app. Check out an e-mail app called K9 Mail. Here's the Play Store link. It has an option to share your e-mail with other apps. So you could use your favorite reminder or calendar app and create your event.
