Is there an app/setting to distinguish accidental dialing from security?

I desire to walk a short distance with my phone. I only wish to prevent accidental dialing while I do so, so no touchscreen? The only way I see to do it now is by lockdown which would seem to be more security oriented. Biometric disabled. Only pin. I would prefer an app or system setting that just prevents the screen from being activated for a few minutes while I am going from place to place. Is there such a thing? Or must the user always jump through security hoops?

Which phone do you have? Some phones have a "pocket mode" that can guess if the phone is in a pocket, and therefore decrease or turn off the screen sensitivity.

Also see if you can remove the phone icon from lock screen, lot of devices today can do that .

My tip to eliminate pocket dialling is to cut an old mouse mat to the shape of your pocket and line the pocket with it so it acts like a screen cover as you get with a flip case.
