Is there any custom ROM that does everything properly?

Within the last week I've been through CM 10.1 (photosphere doesn't work), Goodness Reborn (the inverted themes weren't for me and it killed my battery life), The People's ROM (random hangs and games were horribly slow) and now I'm on the Hyperdrive ROM. So far, Hyperdrive is looking pretty good - except Google NOW! crashes constantly. I've uninstalled, rebooted, reinstalled to no joy. Done a complete wipe and reinstalled the ROM without Google Search and then installed it directly from the Play store - still no joy.

I like the Hyperdrive ROM - no over the top theme/icons, very customizable, doesn't kill my battery - but Google NOW! is one of those things I wave in front of my iPhone loving friends to remind them their phone's still don't match up. Not to mention it's handy as hell.

Am I stuck going back to stock TW just to get something workable? Because I'm also liking Photosphere and would hate to lose it.

Have you tried MOAR? I have been running it for a few months, and I have no problems with Now. (I don't use Photosphere, though)

Liquid Smooth

Sent from my Sprint Samsung Galaxy s3 running Liquid Smooth v2.7 with a 7000mah extended battery powered by ZeroLemon... Because I'm not a chick, a guy with dainty hands or an HTC one user :p

Any of the Touchwiz based ROMs will be more stable and reliable than the AOSP based ROM. Good TW ROMs include MOAR, Wicked Sensations and Liquid Smooth. MOAR is extremely customizable, and only as themed as you want it to be.

What is it you don't like about TW that makes you want to avoid it? I'm using Nova launcher with MOAR, and have no complaints.

I'm not really looking to avoid TW. What I'm looking for is a ROM - TW or otherwise - that gives me great battery life, photoshpere, isn't over-the-top customized with Spiderman themes, and doesn't fail on the basics like Google NOW!.

What I'm currently running is Hyperdrive - a TW based ROM. I've got great battery life thus far, photosphere works flawlessly, and it's customized but in a well thought out way. However Google NOW! crashes every time I use it. That's unacceptable IMO - it's a native Google app for gawds sake.

I had been using Goodness Reborn and hadn't minded the inverted apps. When I tried to update to the newest version, 10.0.4 I was having major issues, and so I began this same quest. I am also currently using Hyperdrive, and am liking it but also have the problem with Google Now crashing. I want to check out the newer features that were recently added but I can't get it to stay operational. I would prefer to stay with a TW ROM so I will look into MOAR. If they can fix the Google Now crash, though, I'm not going anywhere.

I highly recommend MOAR. gNow works perfectly. It doesn't come with the Photosphere camera, but that's now installable as a simple apk. You can install it so it looks essentially stock, or apply a wide range of themes and customizations: your choice, it doesn't force you to customize or theme anything, but it's probably the most customizable ROM I've seen if you want to theme it. I understand your aversion to some of the wild themes out there. I've applied only moderate theming to my install.

The latest release, 5.01, has one minor bug that I'm aware of: The ROM gives you the option of displaying the brightness slider or not. If you choose to display the slider, it goes away when you reboot, and you'll need to go into settings to restore it. The prior release, 4.01, had no bugs that I found. Both are very smooth, and give me good battery life, the developer is very responsive, as is the community of users.

Look here for more details: [ROM] [MOAR] [MD4] Smooth / Modded / Maddness / Sick / v5.01 [06.17.13] - xda-developers

Installed MOAR with the Photosphere and Note2 cameras - everything's flawless thus far.

**EDIT**

MOAR has been incredible - outstanding battery life, smooth and fast on any launcher, amazing customizations and did I mention the battery life?.
