Is there any way to upgrade the android version in a Galaxy S3 without rooting?

I just wanted to upgrade this to something more recent, like 7.0 or higher. Is this possible? Everything online says I have to root it, and I don't want to. The model # is SGH-T999, and I do NOT want to have to get a new phone, I want to stay with this one. Thanks!

You have to check XDA community if they have a custom Rom which would root,but most have absnded this phone due to its age and hardware limits . Is this your daily phone?

Hey~ I will check XDA community. Yes, this is my daily phone-- seems like a great phone, and I don't want to have to buy another one.

Ok, yeah check them out , they big on rooting, roms and such .
