Is there any way to use a USB WiFi adapter on a Galaxy Tab S?

Trying to pick up an Xfinity wifi signal on my boat in the marina. At high tide I can get 1 or 2 bars. At low tide, nothing.

Can't you tether to your cell phone for the connection?

I have one of the old unlimited data plans from Verizon. Tethering is blocked. I can use Pdanet & Foxfi for fone to laptop. Cannot connect to the tablet that way.

Would it be possible to install a wifi repeater on your boat, assuming you have shore power or can run an inverter from your 12 volt?

I'm thinking I might have to get the "Rogue Wave" & mount a small router up under the flybridge. It's a little pricey solution at about $450 total.
