Is there anything bad about the LG G3?

So I need a new phone.

The budget I have in mind is around 350€ (lower if possible.) and I know that for today's standards this is not a lot of money to blow on a smartphone. So I was planning on getting the Nexus 5 but that one has a bunch of cons to it such as bad battery-life and I don't feel like dealing with that. Then I saw that the LG G3 for some reason is very cheap (sub 350€) on a lot of websites. So I checked if it was mistake but no that's the price it goes for. Considering this is the first phone that came out with a QHD display I thought that it has got to have an obvious flaw but no. It's pretty, performs well, has a great camera and good battery-life and it's quite affordable. Is there any real con to the phone at this point? I mean the performance issues that it had when it launched have been fixed (according to other people on the internet)

I'll be waiting until the launch of the Zenphone 2 from Asus before I buy a phone as the Zenphone 2 might be a great, cheaper alternative to the G3.

So my questions:
Is there anything bad about the LG G3 at it's price point?
How bad is LG's skin on top of Lolipop?
Are there still any performance issues with the LG G3?
Are 2GB of ram enough or should I get the 3GB version?
Would it make sense to put stock android on the LG G3?
Do you belive that the Zenphone 2 will be good alternative?

Thanks :)

Is there anything bad about the LG G3 at it's price point? Price point is great for what you're getting (premium-spec flagship smartphone)
How bad is LG's skin on top of Lolipop? The skin isn't bad, but pretty much all of the flagships are suffering with Lollipop issues. 5.1 is going to come out very soon which should address these. The phone will ship with KitKat and I suggest you stay on that unless you are going to root and flash your own rom.
Are there still any performance issues with the LG G3? There are some quality-control issues with a number of units reported. Not sure what percentage is affected, but it seems like average for any phone. Overheating if you get a dud. But that's just a matter of replacing it under warranty/or through the shop. I wouldn't worry about this, as all phones have this issue on some scale.
Are 2GB of ram enough or should I get the 3GB version? 3GB version would be ideal simply because of the extra internal storage. The memory for the 2GB is sufficient, but opt for the 3GB one.
Would it make sense to put stock android on the LG G3? If you want the phone to be your own, the most sense is putting what you want on it, by any means necessary (flashing your rom of choice). There are a great number of roms available for the G3.
Do you belive that the Zenphone 2 will be good alternative? The Zenfone 2 is pretty nice, although it is larger than the G3, even though the screen size is the same. The SoC in it is really nice! Way better than the 801 chip in the G3. PPI is going to be slightly less, but might not matter depending on how good your eyes are. The battery is non-removable and that may be a big con depending on how you use your phone. Memory options are basically the same (3GB vs 4GB is not going to matter). The price might be more than the G3, though.

Thanks for the reply.

I meant the 'Would it make sense to put stock android on the LG G3?'' part in the sense that that might fix performance issues (if there are some)

Also the 5.5 inch 1080p 2GB version of Zenphone 2 will be 199$ according to Asus. That's pretty dope :)

Also a non removable battery is not really a con for me as I could just carry a powerbank. (Also I think it would be really inconvient to try to charge both batteries over night :P

Truly up to you. I love the G3 - it's a great phone with much to recommend it. In my case, I have rooted it and flashed Cyanogenmod 12, which is essentially Android 5, and this makes it the perfect phone for me.
Lots of good phones are out, though, and we're about to start seeing this year's new flagships. Whatever you choose will be great.

The G3 is cheap here in the UK too at the moment....so much so, I almost wish I didn't have one so that I could go out and buy. It's about £100 less than when I bought in July '14.
Also, I imagine there's a good chance that the $199 price mentioned for the Asus Zenfone 2 will not be the price of an unlocked device. It'll be a contract price. It looks a very interesting device and with the specs it's got, it can't sell cheap.

They did rip off the nice volume/power button combo from the G3. And the curved back... It's like the same shell! Except ruined with hardware buttons for navigation, making the phone taller than it needs to be.

Nope the 2GB 1080p version will be 199$ as you can see in LTT's CES video . I would link it to you however I can't because I need 10 posts and I only have four.

I know lol. xD It's kind of hilarious. The design is less sexy than the G3's but if it's cheap that's not a deal breaker.

Also what do you mean by lolipop issues?

To me, lollipop does not exist, as before, I love kit Kat. Can't fault it.

I reverted back to KitKat to test battery life and performance as opposed to Lollipop and I have got to say that with the latest update for the d855 which came out a few days ago the v20h, my experience with Lollipop is better and both of these ROM's i had rooted so they have been tested under same circumstances. I advise for anyone that has the d855 to update to the latest Lollipop build as it has better battery life and overall performance, no bugs so far in my case and i have experienced better multitasking which was a nice surprise. Cheers.
