Is there anyway to go back to 1.6

i wanna flash custom roms again ....is it possible to back to 1.6 or do i have to wait for the new root ?

You can root 2.1 go here ==>> http://forum.androidcentral.com/htc-hero-roms-hacks/15229-guide-rooting-2-1-a.html IF you are running 2.27.651.5 NOT 2.27.651.6. Dot 6 was pushed OTA (Over the air) and if you are running it sorry, they patched the hole and i dont think the DEVS wanna bust their butts all over again. hope this helps.

From what I've read on that link above you have to run 2.1ruu .5 then root. After that you can flash custom roms.
