Is this Launcher worth the price tag?

Look for Aviate and Action Launcher Pro. They are fairly new launchers, but ive used both quite extensively and i think they're pretty awesome and unique. Aviate is private beta at the minute, but pm me and I can send u an invite code if u like :)
Thank you, i'll go check out Action launcher for starters.

Apex Pro is what I use . I had used the free version religiously over three phones. When I got my One I decided to buy the pro version. The pro version gives a lot of versatility like swipe and hardware button options and you can add the Apex Notifier app for free and you get iPhone like notification icons showing how many unread emails, text, phone calls, and even upcoming calendar events for the day.

It's been around and because of this it's a very stable launcher. It can be themed and skinned like Nova and is cross compatible with many other launcher themes.

3D or animation launchers are really cool, but the kill your battery life.

Thanks, I'm trying Apex right now, too early to tell but it seems good, i do like the look of Next launcher and will keep it in mind for the future, I like the sound of the extras that come with Apex Pro so i will probably upgrade to it.

I've used Nova Prime and Next Launcher. Nova is great and so is Next. I have found NO difference in the battery between stock, Nova, or Next Launcher. I am currently using Next Launcher and really like it. Nova is also a great launcher and it's probably easier to set up than Next.
You cannot go wrong with either one.

EDIT: Nova and Apex are very similar. Nova probably has more users than Apex, and Nova supports "Missed It" to get glabal badge notifications. I am not sure if you can get badge notifications with Apex. Next has their own Noitfication badge app (but it only works on email, text, and phone).

Thanks, i think i will get the trial of Next and give it a fair try, it does look like a lot of fun, I installed Nova too and between Nova and Apex i preferred Apex.

I was going to install GO Launcher EX but on looking at reviews i saw so many complaints about various things that it put me off.

Next isn't worth the price imo. Sure it looks cool, but that gets old quick as it's a major battery hog. Stick with the Pro version of either Apex or Nova.

tap'n

Next doesn't seem to drain my Nexus 7's battery any faster than Apex. At least I haven't noticed it.

You get the badge option in Apex if you purchase the pro version they use their own app called Apex Notifier. You install the app but control what it does in Apex settings. One thing I really like about their badging is you can choose the app it's associated to.
For instance I use Contacts+ as my messaging app so I set Apex to notify (badge) text messages on Contacts+ instead of the stock messaging app.

I haven't used the other launchers badging features so I'm not sure if you are able to do this with them.

I installed the trial of Next and from what i have seen so far i love this launcher, the lite version unfortunately doesn't give you all the features, as its only for 84hrs it would be better if they showed exactly what you would be buying, it's fast and slick and i'm very tempted to pay for the full version.

I just installed the music player and it's AMAZING.

Their launcher is less than the cost of a lot of good cases. If you enjoy it, even sometimes, go ahead and get it. I paid for the pay-versions of Nova, Apex, Go Launcher EX, and Next. I like to use one on each of my devices but I do have my favorites (Nova and Go). Next is slick with its unique visuals but will you still like it as much after the novelty of those visuals has worn off? So, I've configured Nova and Next on this Nexus 7 and I'll switch back and forth as the mood strikes. Bottom line, have fun if your wallet allows it. Not too many other launchers will feature the eye-candied performance that Next offers.

What you say makes sense, i will most likely get the paid version of Apex too, maybe more as i see them, maybe the novelty will wear off a bit with Next but think i will enjoy it for some time to come, it really is so nice, i looked at Youtube videos of other 3D launchers and i didn't see one better, the TSF Shell looks good but there's no trial period, they'r missing a trick there i think, i wouldn't spend that kind of money without trying it first.

I've tried a bunch, bought a bunch and find nova to work best for me. It doesn't drain my battery and on my n7 runs perfectly so far. My old Asus tf300 had lag using it but I really think it was the oem software tweaks to android that made that happen. Bottom line is to have fun as mentioned, that's my mantra with tech stuff..enjoy.

Do you know if the downloads like the music player will be saved when i install the paid version or will i need to re-install them?

FYI, the Next Calendar widget is also really good, as is the Next Notification plug-in app.
Sorry but I do not remember if the music player will be saved when you upgrade to the full version (but I think it does).

Thanks, I can always re-install it if it doesn't, i love the juke box style of the music player and the fact thats it's right there in the launcher, I'm sure that if i'm having this much fun with the lite version then i'll have a lot more with the paid version.

I'm not sure but I'd think they'd be saved. All these different tweaks and doodads is what makes Android so good to me. iOS has its perks but you have to love what you can do in Android.

WOW, installed the lite version of Next Launcher!! I'm VERY tempted to skip the trial and go for the premium, but will wait to make sure no bugs pop up! With that said, I was very skeptical about this because of battery, but I've been tinkering with it for over 2 hours and I must say that I really see no difference, so far, when compared to using my Smart Launcher, visibly I mean. I'm a fan, for sure!
