Hey guys, haven't seen this mentioned yet so maybe its just me but on my phone there is a slight glow on the top and bottom of the screen when the screen is on of course (and its only really noticeable in low light) Its kind of hard to describe but its as if the dock on the bottom for example, has a whiteish tint at the top and fades towards the bottom!! Its not an issue really but i just have no idea if its meant to be like that?

Anyone else notice this?

Yeah, I noticed that. It is just HTC's homepage setup. I can see the glow move when I swipe to a new homepage. I have a black wallpaper and it is evenly black.

Well, the dock doesn't move so you won't see that part move. The top of the phone is where you can see it move. I can see full black on my phone becuase I have a launcher that doesn't use the HTC dock. In fact I don't have a dock at all.

It's most likely some backlight bleed. It's when the screen doesn't properly block the bright light when showing black screens. It typically is found around the edges. Computer LCD screens get it too. Do some google searches on 'backlight bleed' for more info.

You can see the difference here -

It doesn't sound like it to me. Sounds like the HTC Home and dock set up as posted above.

If i view a black wallpaper full screen its not there, Strange is its deliberate though no?

Yeah, it is a bit risky on their part, because many people may think it is light bleed - I thought soo too when I first saw it. I guess they did it to make it look "better" and not so flat.

It's too bad my DNA isn't a software issue. The backlight is much brighter on the top than the bottom on all replacements I've had (in fact, I don't even know if there are backlights on the bottom). Does everything look good on the one besides that software gradient?
