Is this normal?

Is it normal for a brand new glass screen protector to look like this in sunlight? Looks like hundreds, maybe thousands of little micro scratches. It looks perfectly fine unless it's in sunlight like this. I won't say what brand it is just yet. I sent an email to the manufacturer with this picture and am waiting to hear back. Just wanted to know if this is normal or not. My guess would be no, but this is only the second glass screen protector I've ever used.

I've used and install tons of glass screen protectors and have never seen one look like that. I would say it's defective.

Was it a tempered glass or thin plastic? Either way it looks odd. How do you keep your phone? I put a tempered glass on Sunday and it still looks really good.

It's tempered glass, made by a very well known screen protector and case maker. It cost $25, so it wasn't a cheap ebay or amazon one. I'm not going to say the manufacturer yet. If they don't end up helping me out, I'll post their name, but so far I don't want to give them a bad review yet. Not sure what you mean by "how do I keep my phone?". I just put this on last Friday evening, and immediately Saturday morning, the first time I saw it in the sun since, I noticed it looking like this.

Again, as long as it's not in sunlight it looks perfectly clear.
