HTC announced the Butterfly S today. 1.9 Ghz Snapdragon 600 processor. 2gb of RAM, 5 inch 1080p screen. micro sd card slot. boom sound speakers, ultrapixel camera, and a 3200 MaH battery. It sure looks like a Verizon phone and with the droid landing twitter kicking up dust last night we might actually finally see something from Big Red. What do you think?

I wanna say no because htc said Verizon is getting the ONE and not just a new device, Who knows though and we'll find out in the coming weeks.
Also there's been rumors that the butterfly S will be going to sprint instead

Where have you heard it's a sprint device? I would be devastated, but it's not unprecedented. I don't believe this is the ONE for Verizon.

Amazing specs. I dont want to feel disapointment with my galaxy S4 octa so I dont want to think about butterfly S's existence at all :-D

I can't see them using this as the one, the main reason a lot of people have bought the one is the aluminum build material... The specs are awesome no doubt but I wouldn't drop my s4 for it, if it was aluminum I would....

When the one and GS4 were first announced I thought the aluminum was a big plus on the one but w the DNA looking and being just great without (no creaks etc)..plus the fact I add a case anyway I couldnt care less about the aluminum.

The new HTC Droid ONE!

That's the battery all phones should come with.

I hope so, I gave up Diana(DNA) when I heard the one was coming, this cash is burning my pocket.....;)

I think a lot of people are hopeful for this. It looks a lot like the DNA. It hits home with all those DNADLX rumors.

Beware the power of the scout's code.

I doubt it would be the Verizon One but man does it look like a nice phone. If aluminum than its a score in every way.

Just on a personal note if i were to critique the awesomness of this phone (just by this quick vid) it would be the red trim colors. I really like the black on black of the Htc One. Other than that just wow

I haven't even heard of a rumor of this being anywhere not in Asia. Where are the Sprint rumors, or Verizon for that matter? Everything I've seen so far indicates no LTE and no mention of any releases other than the one in July in Taiwan. It's possible it could come as a DNA successor, but fresh on the heels of the One and just prior to their Phablet release seems to be eating their own sales.

By the time big red were to sell this it wouldn't be very much fresh on the heels (at least in android land), nor would it eat into their sales much if this ends up on vzw, considering vzw customers would have no other choice save for going to a diff carrier.

This phone looks hotter than the HTC one so I really hope it does comes to Verizon also since the video ad being in English it gives me hope that it will be available outside of Asia.. Crossing my fingers for this beast coming to Verizon

An off the wall post was made in the Comments section of the AC Front Page announcement of this phone.

The poster of the comment claims HTC has to use a smaller battery and there's no room for SD card when a LTE radio is added in.

Not personally knowing how to build a cell phone from scratch I can not say if the above is true but it's an interesting comment nonetheless.

I hope he's wrong. I'd be very happy if Verizon gets the ONE or a reasonable variant of this device. I just wish they'd offer something ... anything ... already!

I had to replace the kickstand on my TBolt with a walker last month it's getting so old (and finding tiny tennis balls for the legs is a real PITA).

Never liked the black and red look from Verizon. 3200 Mah battery sounds nice though as well as the 5 inch display.

From what I saw, they have a white and red version too.

It would be good if it were but HTC already confirmed Verizon was getting the one not a new device entirely which is what this would be it's more of the DNA

The Butterfly S is not the same as the One, it's even better. However don't get your hopes up too high, as it won't be coming to the states. A
Droid variant version should be released before November though, so start saving your pennies. They are waiting for the new iPhone to come out and what samsung is going to do. Smartphones are one of the biggest consumer products around and competition is very high, so each of these companies will be maneuvering and watching what the other is doing. This is generally good for the consumer, but can be frustrating at times. Think of it as a smartphone version of Spy VS. Spy :D

Any hard evidence of any of this?...
