Does stock GS3 run as smooth as vanilla Android on a Galaxy Nexus or CM9 ROM in general?

If you want a smooth Android experience on the GS3, is CM9/CM10 the only way to go?

in my opinion stock will always be that bit faster but on the s3, its that powerful that you dont really notice. as for rom's, i havent felt the need to flash mine yet but i know theres non-cyanogen stock rom's available

Touchwiz is fast but me i can never settle for stock and have to make things faster.
Its an addiction:p

With all those vanilla roms do you have to get the on screen buttons as well?

have u over-clocked your s3 mate? does anyone know how fast the international quad-core and the US dual-core cpu's can be clocked at before crashing?

I'm an admitted flashoholic, but I haven't seen any reason to jump ship from TW yet. My S3 is faaaast. In fact, I tried a couple of different launchers, and neither was as smooth or polished as TW...that says a lot.

nah Go Launcher is nearly as snappy and can be made to look a lot nicer :)

Yes. I dont have the international version i have the us and i can clock it up to 1890mhz and i doesn't crash on me. Im guessing the quad could go higher then that and still not crash.

1890 can get dangerously high with heat. 1800 seems pretty safe with the tests I've run. At least on the S4 version.

Stock ICS on the galaxy nexus lags and stutters and can't even run live wall paper due to crappy hardware. A stock gs3 should be even smoother than cm9 due to horsepower difference, but jellybean is looking pretty damn smooth on the nexus.

Touchwiz is ridiculously smooth. I have no desire to change launchers or to go to stock at the moment.

I haven't checked it out yet but I don't use it that high because no need for it and it is a battery hog at those speeds.

I normally keep it at 1728 and it's nice and safe
