I would like to root my phone to get back my SDcard privileges.
But I read it uses a recently discovered flaw in the linux kernel to root.

Should I be concerned about very serious risks.
What will happen when the linux guys patch up with an update. Will it later ruin my phone?

Well we really don't know, it can be dangerous but that all depends on the developer.
You are giving access to your phone to this person and they are hacking it to get root.
You shouldn't update a phone that has root, you have to flash back to stock and then update.
But then the security hole could be patched.
Then we have to wait for another hacker to exploit another security hole.

No worries or safety risks with Towelroot! Completely safe!

The hole had already been patched in many cases/models/phones. If you upgrade to a sw version that has a patched kernel you will not be able to root via Towelroot. Nothing else happens. No side effects!

You need to be more cautious about what programs you use to root.
They do have access to your entire phone you know.
It is what a hacker would do if they wanted to get all your info.
Only difference is you are trusting that nothing will happen.
