Is Waze the best traffic/navigation app? If not what is?

Which is annoying as hell in LA because the entire 405 is under construction so literally every minute you get "construction ahead."

You can go to SETTINGS >DISPLAY >SHOW ON MAP and turn items off.

I really like Waze and use it every day. It has saved me from more than a few tickets.
The only thing that I have found that does not work is directions from Yelp. Waze just can't do it. That's when I use Google maps.

Tom Tom app, if are willing to pay for the annual charge. I never had any other navigation app reroute me around a broken down big rig before or something similar. And what I mean by that is had me get off on the exit before the big rig and then get on right after the big rig. The route adjust about 10 mins before I hit the slow down and big rig.

While Google Maps will pull some information from Waze, it does not update as frequently as does Waze. I have found that Waze is the best for real time routing (sometimes very creative routing) that WILL consistently save you time. The only missing features are lane guidance like Google Maps has, Speed Limits and Android Auto support.

Waze is known for having fantastic real time rerouting like you mentioned. And it's free!

I really like HERE maps. You can download large area maps and use it even when there is no cell tower access or when access to a cell tower is variable. It does not use your preferred voice but you can download a voice which is OK.

Google maps is good but you can only use it offline in a very restricted area and I hate the awful voice Google uses now.

You can use HERE with only gps and it is very good. It displays your current speed and the current speed limit. You can even set an alarm if you exceed the speed limit by X mph (where X can be any value from 0 to 18 mph).

Google has a deal with waze, so you will get the same traffic info and same route info whether you use the waze app or not.

The one thing im not sure about is if you could report traffic on the google maps app.

Differences....
Google maps- cant report traffic, police, or accidents
Waze- send friends your destinations eta via text message. Report traffic, disabled vehicles, police, accidents, traffic.

I use waze because looking out for the police always helps out a bit.
