I would recomend you getting a 3-Coils Wide Charging Area Qi Wireless Charger. It may not be a big issue for just the N5 but if you ever buy a large Qi phone or a Nexus 7 tablet it is so easy to find the sweet spot with the 3-Coil than a single coil charger that you have to mess with to find the sweet spot with larger Qi compatible devices. Good advice. I've also found that finding the right spot to place my Nexus 7 on the charger can be a bit tricky.

I have a Nexus 5 and bought the PowerBot. It was cheap and I wasn't sure I wanted to use wireless. I place the phone down with the "X" of "NeXus" roughly on the center and it chirps to let me know it's connected. If it doesn't chirp, and sometimes it doesn't, the light on the PowerBot changes from blue to green.

I like the wireless charger.

I have 3 of the powerbot Qi chargers and they work well. And as others have said, yes Qi is supported out of the box.

I've read quite a bit about Qi chargers and am considering buying one, I haven't really seen anything negative about using Nexus 5 on a wireless charging pad and that if anything, it is better in the long run as it doesn't cause stress on the mini-usb charging port at the bottom of the phone.
